Old Kapaa Town Art Walk

Old Kapaa Town Art Walk every first Saturday of the month is a smashing success! Kapaa Town has never been so alive. Hundred of people lining the streets, filling the restaurants. visiting the shops. Musicians and Artisans giving a show on every corner. People dancing to Reggae in one storefront, to Bluegrass in another. Even the shop owners are enjoying themselves. A.Ell Atelier shop owner and clothing designer Angie Ell pulled out her new skills on Fiddle and played a diddy for the crowd.
Kapaa has always been a small quaint beach front town. Most folks just pass right through heading to Lihue one direction or Princeville the other. But not anymore! At least not on the first Saturday of each month! Folks head here from all over the island to enjoy some of the best restaurants, shops and entertainment Kauai has to offer.
What is most heartening about Old Kapaa Town Art Walk is how much the shops and restaurants have gotten involved. Sushi Bushidos, had a Hawaiian musician and hula dancers performing in their storefront. Big Wave Dave’s brings in the crowd with Vic and the Victimz. Arguably the best dance band on Kauai. Backyards keeps their stage full with the Funky Poi Band. East Side cafe provides a fine dining experience while listening to Kauai’s famous Shilo Pa! Folks just stayed on that corner for hours! The Glass Shack sponsored Kauai’s Reggae heavy hitters Burning Bush in their side parking lot. And they burned it up! The Hemp and Cotton store featured Jonathan “Jono” Reid Solo. Great guitars man! Outside Tropical Tantrum was The Lost Pelican Band playing Western Swing, BluesRock. Lost Pelicans are some seriously amazing musicians. A.Ell Atelier, Matt Morelock and Friends. Boot stomping Fiddle Banjo Madness!! The youngest in there group? A 9 year old Washboard player! Gotta love Matt. All this music surrounded by Kauai’s own Photographers, Jewelers, and artists selling their wares. Where else would any rational fun loving human being want to spend their first Saturday of every month but in Old Kapaa Town enjoying Art Walk! See you next month!
